Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Saturday, March 21st, 2015

Broward teams fared well against their Palm Beach and Miami-Dade opponents for the most part Saturday in the HSBN March Madness Shootout.

Pine Crest beat Benjamin 14-3 behind an offensive surge keyed by Zack Kone’s grand slam and solo shot, and Griffin Conine’s two home runs as the pair accounted for nine RBIs.

Westminster Academy topped Miami Brito 3-1 behind Tommy Haggerty’s three-hitter.

Cypress Bay downed TERRA 9-6, North Broward Prep routed Miami Sunset 12-2 and Coral Springs got past Keys Gate Charter 4-2.

In head-to-head Broward competition, West Broward turned heads with its 4-2 win over Archbishop McCarthy in 12 innings. Mike Grey had two hits and drove in the winning run as Coral Glades edged Fort Lauderdale 4-3.
