A Cumberland, RI native. Kevin graduated from Rhode Island College in 1992. Was team captain as a Senior playing 1st base and Of. Also attended and played baseball at Community College of RI and Dean College in MA. Moved to South Florida in 1999 and worked and coached under Mike Silvestri at Broward College for 1yr. Took over the Head Coaching Job at Ely High School in 2001. Was district runner up with two Regional playoff berths in back to back seasons. Assistant Coach Drew Phillips played for Coach Carney at Ely. Was named the inaugural Head Baseball Coach at Everglades HS in 2004 and coached the team the first two seasons. Came back to coach at Northeast HS as an assistant in 2010/11. Was named the Interim Head Coach at Northeast in the summer of 2011. In spring of 2013 Northeast Baseball captured their first district title in over a decade. Coach Carney is also a full time licensed Realtor with Southeast Coast Realty out of Pompano Beach specializing in Residential Sale and Rentals. Previously he taught in the Broward Public School System. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and relaxing. |
