Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Monday, February 10th, 2013

The first official day of the 2014 season provided Broward baseball fans with dramatic results and exciting action. Douglas squeaked out a win in a dramatic seventh inning against Calvary Chrsitian. Andrew Rohloff pitched a complete game shutout for Monarch over Deerfield Beach. In inter-county play, Flanagan took down last year’s Miami state championship runner-up in Miami Pace to start their home tournament off right. Check out the rest of the day’s action below.

WP -  LP - View Game Stats Recap/Standouts Sheridan Hills was defeated tonight by Miami's, Archbishop Curley in the first game of the 2014 Spring Season. Despite the loss, Rodrigo Alva for Sheridan Hills, had a RBI triple in the game.

WP - Ken Rasor  LP - Dylan O'Connell  S - Mike Cohick View Game Stats Recap/Standouts Mike Cohick picked up three hits, and Kenny Rasor added two hits as the Bulldogs defeated the Gators in each teams' 2014 opener. Rasor and Cohick also did the work on the mound for South Broward, with Rasor picking up the win, and Cohick the save.

Calvary had tied the game in the top of the seventh, but Douglas answered with the game-winner in their half of the frame. Colton Welker had two hits for Douglas, including a double. Tyler Norris and Yorvis Torrealba had two RBIs each. Connor Rowland hit a home run, with two RBIs and a run for Calvary.
