From there, its a roll of the dice which team will have a hot week. Welcome to high school baseball in 2023!

#1 | (1) | ![]() | Douglas Eagles (14-0) Trivia Question: How many times have the Eagles given up six or more runs in a game in the past two years?
Answer: Twice. This past week against Columbus, and last April vs. Western.
And they won both games.
Over the span of 45 games, they have gone 43-2.
Good luck 7A opponents. |
#2 | (2) | ![]() | Archbishop McCarthy (12-1) In a normal season, the Mavericks would have been seen as the most dominant team in the county with a 12-1 record. But with Douglas cruising, McCarthy keeps playing second fiddle. They have a chance to change that this week when they host the Eagles on Thursday night... |
#3 | (3) | ![]() | American Heritage Plantation (10-2) Another team flying under the radar, the Patriots picked up a big win this past week when they knocked off #5 Taravella. Heritage has a chance to pad their record this week, with three games against teams with records of .500 or worse... |
#4 | (4) | ![]() | North Broward Prep (10-4) The Eagles, took care of business last week against Pine Crest. #5 | (5) | ![]() | Taravella Trojans (9-4) The Trojans have faced three teams this season in the Broward Top 10. They have lost those games by a combined 25-6 score. If Taravella wants to take the leap into the upper echelon of Broward teams, they will have to be better in big games. They get that shot this week. |
#6 | (6) | ![]() | University Sharks (10-2-1) The Sharks have played well against many inferior opponents this year, and sprinkled in just enough wins over good teams to suggest they are for real. Over the next two weeks, we all will get answers on how good University can be, as they face PB #4 West Boca, and #1 Benjamin... |
#7 | (9) | ![]() | West Broward Bobcats (9-4) Consistent with previous years, there is no team in South Florida that shows the ability to beat anybody, or lose to anybody, on any given day. Whether this talented squad can string four games together in a row come playoff time, will determine how far West Broward can go... |
#8 | (-) | ![]() | Sagemont Lions (11-3) The Lions enter the rankings for the first time this season under new manager Jason Stettner. Sagemont will start their second half coming off a strong performance over spring break, where they went 3-1 in tournament play. |
#9 | (10) | ![]() | The Eagles have done just enough to stay in the rankings this week, but they desperately need a signature win. They will get that chance Tuesday, when they host #5 Taravella... |
#10 | (8) | ![]() | Monarch Knights (7-4) The Knights only played one game over spring break, and it was a loss to Cardinal Gibbons that broke their five game winning streak. Monarch will try to get back on track this week, with games against South Plantation, Deerfield, and Fort Lauderdale... |
