Realtor Cameron Demming Giving Back To Baseball

Cameron Demming is a baseball lifer.

Baseball is a game that never leaves you. When you love the game it loves you right back. Baseball finds its way into every part of life, and guides the way you call your life same as you would call balls and strikes.

Cameron Demming has not picked up a bat or ball in some time, yet he brings a baseball approach to guide him through his current passion as one of the top real estate brokers in South Florida at Cameron Keyes Realty. Cameron is a third-generation baseball lifer, whose grandfather contracted land from J.P. Taravella and built Lyons Park, which at the time was the first baseball field in the city of Coral Springs. Cameron and his father, John, also hold the all-time record for wins by a father and son combination at Coral Springs High.

“It was cool playing for Coral Springs High as a kid and the interesting thing is I used to wear my dad’s jacket when I pitched too,” said Cameron. “He still had his old letterman’s jacket from being in the first graduating class at Coral Springs High, and in between innings I wore it. It was cool to think I am pitching on the same field.”

Baseball is a game of legacy, tradition and respect. Cameron was fortunate to live these traits through the game, and now those traits have helped to guide him to run a unique and successful real estate business. There are so many things that go into the business, and it is like that of a grueling nine-inning battle. He brings an intense and high-energy approach to his craft, and the goal is always to put a family in a quality, affordable situation. Cameron plays the entire game all the way through each tough inning, like a skipper making all the right moves to ensure success in the end.

“At the end of my career I was a closer, and now I’m still a closer,” Cameron joked. “But from when things get started to when it gets to the closing aspects, you have to be able to bring it all together to close it out. Just like on the mound, have the confidence to throw a risky pitch to get the job done. In negotiations you have the same approach. You have to be able to read the person and calm down and get yourself in that moment to make it work.”

Cameron is very real and honest with his clients, and there have been lots of wins in the standings. Keyes Realty also offers hassle-free short sale solutions that get offers the same day as the property is listed. Being in the game is the most important thing Cameron focuses on, and he makes sure he always does what he is supposed to for his clients.

This field at Mullins Park in Coral Springs is named after Cameron’s grandfather.

He has not forgotten the many long hours of practice he spent on the baseball field, and how those days led to many happy times during the games. If there is a weakness on the team, it will show. So he is always careful to protect the rights of the buyers and the sellers, and work to the common goal of putting a roof over their head. The athlete in him says closing a ninth-inning game was tougher, but Cameron knows how serious his job is and how important it is that he has his best stuff in that critical last frame.

Cameron is happy to give back to baseball any way that he can, and Keyes Realty has long been a loyal supporter of High School Baseball Network.

“I really want to give back and I like what HSBN is doing,” Cameron said. “I like where HSBN is going; it’s very cutting edge. I still remember when I was in high school we would wait for that one day the weekly newspaper came out, and we would stare at it and see who was named Player of the Week or some other thing. This is on a whole different level and it’s almost like Major League Baseball for high school kids. It’s a way to keep track of their stats and it’s really awesome. I wanted to give back to the baseball community and this is a great way to do that.”

Cameron has not forgotten the people who helped him as he grew up in the game. He spent two years playing for the Florida Pokers under Mike Roberts when he was in high school, and he holds the all-time saves record for the Pokers. Roberts passed away last year, and Cameron is proud to honor his memory by helping today’s youth enjoy a richer high school baseball experience.

“Mike Roberts opened my eyes, and he was a tough guy,” said Cameron. “There were a lot of life lessons rolled into those two summers I played for him. He really got me into thinking towards the future, and that’s what I think baseball really does is groom little knuckleheads into adults. Coach Roberts did that. Everybody on that team had been drafted by the MLB or was being scouted by a Division I college. We all thought we had the world in our hands, but he knew we didn’t. He made me understand. He drilled into me that whatever we do we have to do it with passion, to do it well and be passionate about it. Luckily, I found real estate.”
