Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Tuesday, April 7th, 2015

Ricky Miranda earned the win as Douglas staved off an upset bid by 8A-11 rival Deerfield Beach to win 5-4 in eight innings Tuesday. The Eagles fell behind 3-0, rallied to tie it in the bottom of the seventh and then rallied for two runs in the bottom of the eighth after Deerfield went ahead 4-3. The Eagles completed district play at 8-0.

The hits just kept on coming at Westminster Academy as the Lions fought off a tenacious Pompano Beach team to win 18-13. Luis Leal led the Lions, going 4-for-5 with a double, home run, two stolen bases and five RBIs, and Gabe Delgado went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs, three runs and two stolen bases.

Somerset secured the third seed in 4A-14 with a 4-0 win over North Broward Prep. Derek Caraya homered, and Mark Bejar drove in two runs.
