Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Friday, February 19th, 2016

Vinnie Costello went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, two runs and two stolen bases as Pompano Beach rallied past Coral Springs Charter 7-5 in a 5A-14 game Friday. Nick Marcantonio went 2-for-4 with two runs and a stolen base for the Tornadoes (3-2), who used a four-run third inning to take a 5-3 lead en route to the win. Peter Trautman picked up the victory.

Joey Hennessey struck out 11 and allowed no hits in four innings to earn the win as Monarch got the best of former district nemesis Northeast 11-0. Hennessey also was key at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double, RBI and walk for the Knights (2-0-1).

Brandon Torres fired a no-hitter to key Cooper City’s 12-2 win over Hollywood Hills in an 8A-15 game. Cameron Stadler went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs, and Parker Britton added two hits.
