Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Friday, March 4th, 2016

Matthew Patella went 2-for-2 with two runs, and Scott Shaw had a hit and drove in a run in Nova’s 4-2 win over Cooper City in an 8A-15 game Friday. The Titans improved to 7-1, 3-0 while the Cowboys slipped to 6-1, 2-1.

Max Lazar pitched a three-hitter with 15 strikeouts in Coral Springs’ 4-0 win over Deerfield Beach in 9A-11. Luis Victoria went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Tyler Hall added two hits and two runs for the Colts (5-3, 2-2).

Westminster Academy extended its winning streak to five games as it beat Miami Country Day 12-2 in a 4A-7 matchup. The Lions improved to 6-3, 3-2.

Austin Carney went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs to lead Pompano Beach past Cardinal Gibbons 6-4 in a 5A-14 game. Chase Costello got the win, and Trevor Kniskern struck out four in three innings, allowing no hits for the Tornadoes (6-3, 4-2), who won their third in a row. Jeremy Davis went 2-for-4 with a run.
