Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016

University School won its fourth in a row after a three-game losing streak, defeating host South Broward 3-1 to win the Bulldog Classic championship Tuesday. Scott Gutstein pitched five innings, allowing one run, and Josh Laprest went 2-for-3 for the Sharks (13-5), who scored their runs in the bottom of the fifth after South Broward took a 1-0 lead in the top of the inning. Cole Standifer got the save.

Joe Sallustio pitched a three-hitter to guide Piper to a 6-0 win over McArthur in the Bulldog Classic. John Burke scored twice, and Ryan Taylor drove in a run for the Bengals (10-5).

Taravella won its fifth in a row and second in the Florida League Invitational in Sanford as it defeated University Christian 6-0. The Trojans (11-4) scored two in the top of the fourth to break a scoreless tie. Santiago Cardona (RBI) and Eddie Ayala (two runs, RBI) each went 2-for-3.
