Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Thursday, April 7th, 2016

Piper capitalized on the long ball Thursday to upset 8A-14 foe St. Thomas 6-5 on Thursday for its fifth win in row. Joe Spano hit a two-run homer, and John Burke had a solo shot for the Bengals (14-5, 5-3). Jacob Makoulian earned the win, and Jorge Vega got the save.

Matt Rumpf struck out 10 and allowed two hits in Monarch’s 3-0 win over Fort Lauderdale. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Knights (8-12-1).

Zach Revilla went 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs, Anthony Molina struck out six and allowed four hits in six innings to get the win for West Broward in its 3-1 win over Western in 9A-12. The Bobcats improved to 10-6, 4-4, and the Wildcats fell to 9-11, 2-6.
