North Broward Prep Wins Sixth Straight District Title

There are certain programs around South Florida that have reached levels of excellence where they are measured in terms of state championships and national rankings. North Broward Prep has become one of those programs under Manager Brian Campbell.
The Eagles skipper has been at the top of the NBP baseball program now for 20 years, and the Eagles have won eight district titles, six regional titles, and three state championships.
But even through all the success, each season must be celebrated differently from previous teams.
On Friday night, the 2026 version of the Eagles started staking their claim, and march, towards being one of the top teams in program history, when they took down Coral Springs Charter 6-2, winning the schools sixth straight district title.
“A district championship was one of those goals that we marked on our board when the season started,: said Campbell. “Thankfully we got to cross that off tonight, and now it is on to tackling our next goal. Tonight was a great team win.”
Jack Rostock did much of the heavy lifting in this one. The Eagles starting pitcher threw the first six innings, and kept the Panthers lineup at bay for most of the night. Rostock closed the day allowing six hits and two runs, while striking out nine.
The game actually started off in favor of Charter, when Chris Lora executed a squeeze bunt, and Easton Viveros tripled in Rodney Chung, to give the Panthers a 2-0 early lead in the third.
The Eagles, however, would answer back in the bottom of the fourth, when Julian Rodriguez launched a two-run, game-tying home run.
The game stayed tied at two until the sixth, when Anthony Diaz gave NBP the lead with an RBI single. Adrian Rodriguez later upped the score to 6-2 with a single of his own.
The teams both finished with seven hits on the night, but it was the Eagles who came up with the timely hitting to pull out the district title.
Both teams will now prepare for regional play, with the Eagles being one of the favorites to return to Fort Myers in 3A.
“When you get into these situations, everybody contributes and everybody is important,” said Campbell. “Everyone associated with the win tonight deserves credit for the role they played. Now, it is on to working on our next goal, and that starts next week with regionals. We are looking forward to the challenge.”
The final 3A regional rankings will be out on Saturday, when both North Broward Prep and Coral Springs Charter will learn who their regional quarterfinals opponent will be next weekend.
