Coral Springs ended Douglas’ hope of an undefeated Friday with a convincing 10-3 victory over the Eagles. The two teams are now tied atop the District 10-6A standings.

Douglas came from behind for the second time in two weeks Wednesday night. This time, it was a two-run homer from Brandon Raaf that kept the Eagles undefeated on the season.

The Douglas Eagles played their worst game of the season, committing seven errors, but somehow still escaped with a 7-6 win over Taravella on Thursday afternoon.

Douglas had to wait all off season to avenge two playoff losses to Coral Springs last year, but on Thursday the Eagles finally got their revenge with a 5-4 win over the Colts.

The Douglas Eagles were tested again on Tuesday by Coral Glades, but they came out 3-1 winners thanks to a tie-breaking fifth inning home run by lead-off hitter Louis Silvero.

Douglas and Flanagan have developed a rivalry over the past couple of years, and on Friday it was the Eagles that came out on top 3-2 in a battle of two of Broward’s top teams.

The Douglas Eagles used strong pitching and timely hitting to carry them to a 10-0 win over Deerfield Beach on Thursday.

The Douglas Eagles started their 2011 season strong, defeating former assistant coach Frank Pisani and his Cardinal Gibbons squad 7-0 in a preseason match up on Wednesday.
